LCN program at Space
I am really pleased to be taking part on the LCN program at Space Studios.
London Creative Network (LCN) at SPACE directly responds to the pressing needs and desires of artists who want access to peer-networking, new production technologies, business skills and support to finding the right audience. It is an artist development programme that delivers bespoke mentoring and project-specific support for artists, their businesses and collectives in London.
I am working at making an audio work that is broadcasted through an adapted 1940s telephone. This will be programmed to ring periodically, and play the piece when answered, allowing the work to co-exist in a group exhibition without fading into the background. The composition is a musical account of every nuclear explosion detonated since 1945.
ERDF LCN is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund Programme 2014 to 2020. The Department for Communities and Local Government is the managing authority for the European Regional Development Fund Programme, which is one of the funds established by the European Commission to help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support local businesses and create jobs.
